A safe and welcoming event

Volunteer dinner rules

We aim to be reasonable, tolerant, and welcoming. A few essential ground rules help us keep the dinner running safely for everyone involved.

Please notify the head of the volunteer committee immediately about any infractions or if you have questions. Please leave the enforcement to us. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and welcoming event.

Zero tolerance for alcohol or drug consumption

Alcohol and non-prescription drugs are prohibited on the premises. Participants must not be under the influence of either. Anyone suspected of violating this policy will be removed from the venue.

Zero tolerance for violence or disruptive behaviour

All participants must behave in an appropriate manner. Violence will not be tolerated. Please treat everyone with respect.

No soliciting, petitioning, campaigning or proselytizing

This event is intended to be a welcoming space for the community to relax and enjoy a meal. Solicitation, petitioning for causes, political campaigning, or religious proselytizing are not permitted.

Religious attire and symbols are not prohibited, and individuals of all beliefs are welcome to volunteer or attend as guests. Attending with the intent to promote or convey a message is not appropriate.

For example, a minister is welcome to attend and enjoy a meal after a service while wearing their usual clerical clothing. It would not be appropriate to attend in such attire if it is not part of their normal public dress and is intended to draw attention or promote a message.

No smoking or cannabis products

Smoking is not allowed anywhere while on the campus other than in the two designated “smoking approved” areas. The use of any cannabis products either with or without a prescription is prohibited on the entirety of the campus.
