In 1988, a group of people got together to organize an annual free dinner for anyone in need. The idea was simple: share a meal with people who might be hungry, struggling, or alone.
A community tradition
The venues have changed over the years, but the dinner remains entirely volunteer-run and non-religious. It is made possible by donations of time, food, money, and space.
Meals shared in recent years
| Year | Meals served | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 921 | Concordia University |
| 2024 | 980 | Concordia University |
| 2023 | 893 | St. Ignatius of Loyola |
These figures come from the project’s dinner history, which also records earlier editions.
Thank you
Every cooked turkey, hour in the kitchen, donation, and helping hand contributes to the dinner. Thank you to the volunteers, neighbours, and organizations who make it possible.
